Dear friends!
I’m glad to thank You for interesting and fruitful period of Italian language and Culture studying that I was happy to pass at ISDRI in August of 2004. Actually as far as I understand, I was Your first Russian native-speaking citizen of Ukraine. Italian language and culture were and will be the most dear and deep passion of my life. I’m graduate from teaching of English, Italian, Russian languages and Foreign literature at the National M.Dragomanov University of Kiev in 2002, and in 2004 I was going on with my post graduate studying, when I got to know about ISDRI’s activity from my friends-members of international student’s association AEGEE. So I decided to pass a period of studying at ISDRI, because I was finishing the chapter of my thesis dedicated to Alessandro Manzoni and it was very necessary for me to visit Italy.
I was surprised and very pleased with the fact, that at ISDRI I could study not only Italian culture in general, but also La Sardaignen one. We participated in traditional holidays, tasted typical meals, among which was also honey which is so good for people, suffered from Chernobil catastrophe. The aspect of health improving is very important for people from my country, and after ISDRI’s 2 weeks I really felt well and strong.
We had very experienced and nice teachers who used modern methodologies of communicative teaching, specified for foreign students in native-speaking area.
I discovered for me the Island of La Sardaigne with it’s historical and archeology treasures and places of interest. The trips were organized very well in all aspects: from very good guides to lunch-pockets, that were always ready when we did not go to our nice restaurant. The conditions of student’s house impressed me by their high level, corresponding to 3* hotel.
When I came back to my Academy where I teach in Kiev, I told my impressions to our director of International Relations office, and we got an idea to send our students to ISDRI for the next year. We invited ISDRI’s president, who had a meeting with our rector, and so our collaboration happily started in 2005.
I’d like to thank all ISDRI organizers and express my sincere hope for future long lasting collaboration.
